About me

Engineer, Tech Leader & AI Enthusiast

Computer Engineer, tech leader, and AI enthusiast. My journey from classic engineering to digital innovation.

Hi! I’m Carlos. If you’ve made it here, you probably share my interest in technology, team management, or simply the curiosity about how to survive professionally in a sector that changes at lightning speed.

From “classic” engineering to Generative AI

My background is in Computer Engineering. Since I graduated in ‘98, I haven’t stopped writing code and designing systems. I’ve gone through all stages: from programming in Visual Basic and Java, to founding my own consultancy, Aubergin Tecnologies.

In the last decade, my career has focused on leading critical platforms. I was responsible for the BBVA PaaS, managing a great team distributed between Spain and Mexico, and currently, I am Head of IT & Digital at Aire, where I coordinate the technological strategy.

To avoid getting “rusty,” I recently completed a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence at UNIR. My current focus mixes all that experience in scalable architectures with the new possibilities of Generative AI.

Why this blog?

Basically, because I love sharing what I learn in the “mud” of daily work. Here we will talk about:

  • Architectures and SRE: How to build systems that don’t go down and really scale.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Real applications, beyond the hype.
  • Team Management: Technical leadership, agility, and how to scale engineering organizations.

The Human Factor

I’m a father of two young children, which means my time is an extremely limited resource. This blog doesn’t aim to be an academic encyclopedia but a practical logbook. I write from professional to professional, taking advantage of those quiet moments at home to synthesize what works and what doesn’t.

I’ve given talks at Kubecon and other meetups, and I’ve been a member of Agile Spain since its beginnings. If you like technology straight to the point and with a touch of reality, you’re in the right place.
